Private AI notes: what works without internet

How CUBE’s local AI works, what to download first and how processing a note differs from visiting a website or querying a map.

To get started

CUBE’s AI prepares notes and answers on your device. Once the model is downloaded, that AI can work without internet. Features that query websites or map providers may still need a connection.

What local AI means

The model that prepares notes and generates answers runs on your phone. Your note text is not sent to a cloud AI service for that processing.

Your memory is stored in an encrypted database on the device. CUBE does not use cloud sync to maintain an automatic copy of your notes across devices.

02

Prepare before going offline

Complete the initial model download and prepare the notes you will need. Open a few and check that their content was read correctly.

On iPhone, inference runs while CUBE is in the foreground. Switching apps pauses it; returning resumes it. Working offline does not mean processing indefinitely with the app closed.

  • Important notes reviewed.
  • Originals available to check details.
03

What may still need internet

Opening a page or retrieving its content contacts that source. Locating a restaurant or using map services queries external providers: place queries are sent to those services.

The initial download and store actions such as subscribing or managing a subscription are separate from local note processing too. An app can offer offline AI while retaining these network needs.

04

Choose for the memory you need

If you want to save personal information and consult it on your own device, local AI offers a way to do so without sending its text to a remote model.

If you need team collaboration or automatic cloud sync, this CUBE workflow is not designed for that. Spaces separate contexts in your own memory; they are not shared folders.

Questions that often come next

Does offline mean nothing uses the network?

No. It describes local AI after downloading the model. Websites, maps and store services have their own connection needs.

Do I have an automatic copy on another device?

There is no cloud sync. Keep backups and check how you will transfer your data before changing or erasing a device.
