How to save ideas and organise voice notes

Capture an idea with your voice, add context and recover it without losing it among recordings.

To get started

Record the idea with some context: what it is about, who it is for and what you want to do with it. Review the prepared note and group it with its project.

01

Start with the context

A recording that begins “This could work” can be hard to understand a week later. Name the topic first: “Gift idea for Venus” or “Change for Friday’s presentation”.

Record your own idea or describe a conversation in your own words. To remember a discussion, it is often enough to say what you decided and what is still pending.

02

Distinguish what happened from what you might do

You do not need to sound like you are dictating a report. It helps to distinguish a fact from a proposal: “Venus likes novels” and “I could give her one”.

  • Context: what or who you are talking about.
  • Detail: what happened or what occurred to you.
  • Next step: what you want to check or decide.
03

Review the note before relying on it

CUBE turns the recording into a note you can return to. Check names, numbers and any important word that may have been misunderstood.

Each capture stays as one note. If you covered several topics, the content remains together; tags and comments can add context. On iPhone, processing pauses when you leave and continues when you return.

04

Find the idea when you need it

Tag the project or search for the person involved. You can also ask chat what you had in mind for that gift or presentation.

When you decide, add a comment. Next time you will find both the original idea and what you ended up doing with it.

Questions that often come next

Do I need to organise my thoughts before recording?

You do not need a script. Adding the topic and reason helps make the memory useful later.

Can I assume the prepared text is exact?

Review it. Transcription and AI can make mistakes, particularly with names, background noise or numbers.
